About Anthropology Department
The study of Anthropology promotes an understanding of humanity by exploring human nature from its beginnings to the present. Anthropology provides understanding and answers based on a century of exploring the development of human nature, society, and culture. It is the only social science that seeks to understand both human biological and cultural variation in the past and in the present. Encompassing a wide range of subjects spanning archaeology, cultural and linguistic anthropology, biological anthropology, and museum studies, anthropology is unique among the many fields that study humanity. The physical office for the Anthropology Department is closed until further notice and we will be delivering services via email or online. If you are a current student and have questions regarding your class, please email your professor directly. Faculty emails and certificate advisers are listed in the About Us, Faculty, and Staff page. For undergraduate advising, please email Matthew O'Brien mjobrien@csuchico.edu .
