Honor and celebrate the vibrant traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) at our annual community celebration! Held in the beautiful and historic grounds of the Chico Cemetery, this free, family-friendly event invites everyone in Butte County to come together for a day of remembrance, culture, joy, and unity. Whether you are honoring beloved ancestors or experiencing this rich Mexican tradition for the first time, our Día de los Muertos celebration offers immersive cultural performances, local food, and activities for all ages. Event Highlights & Entertainment Traditional Aztec Dancers: Experience powerful, high-energy ceremonial dance performances honoring ancient heritage. Youth Mariachi Band & Ballet Folklórico: Enjoy live traditional Mexican music and colorful folkloric dance routines performed by talented young artists. Community Ofrenda (Altar): Sponsored by the NorCal Anti-Racism Coalition (NCAC) Sugar Skull Face Painting: Get your face painted with traditional Calavera designs, perfect for kids and adults alike. Local Food & Artisan Vendors: Browse local craft vendors and enjoy delicious authentic Mexican food and treats. Photo Booth: Capture memories with family and friends at our festive Día de los Muertos photo setup. Event Details & Visitor Information Cost: Completely FREE admission for all ages.
