The Swizzle - Open Mic Thursdays

About this event

The Swizzle is a mic-less open mic night welcoming all students and community members. In collaboration with the English Graduate Student Council, we bring you an evening cocktail of poetry, prose, songs, stories, art, and any spoken word or performance work that participants wish to share. Our event is unplugged, so bring your voices or acoustic instruments, or come as an audience member to simply enjoy the energy. The event starts off at 6pm with the hosts breaking the ice. Our signup sheet will be available at the ARTS Collaborative Space starting at 5:30pm. To find ARTS 227, walk into the Arts and Humanities Courtyard and head up the outdoor stairs; The Swizzle will be on your right, down the hall. What we're looking for: Poetry, prose, songs, stories, spoken word, slam-style shouting, artistic projects, works of others, recitations, covers, pieces-in-progress, wishes, wailing, and wonder. What we won't accept: Gratuitous graphic content, overly sexual work, or any content that demeans or disrespects marginalized people, at the discretion of the event hosts
